Marketing Project Manager
Reporting to: Vice President, Consumer Marketing (interim)

Position summary:
 

Location of position: Montreal

 

Responsibilities

 

The incumbent is responsible for the project management, leadership and implementation of all assigned marketing projects from kick off/launch through implementation to post mortems. The Project Manager leads the coordination and completion of multiple small to large size marketing projects in accordance to specifications, schedules and budgets; assists with the coordination of interdepartmental functions to minimize delays, identifies opportunities for optimization and flags critical issues, meets with the VP (or direct manager) on a regular basis to review project status and assists with development of plans for future actions. The incumbent works closely with the product managers, campaign leaders and multi-disciplinary teams in order to maximize efficiency and quality of work for all Canadian marketing projects. The person in place is responsible for ensuring the overall project support and delivery to meet internal customer expectations. This is an exciting opportunity for a professional Project Manager to work within an evolving, dynamic, fun team and contribute to making Reader’s Digest a winning organization.

 

Education / Experience

 
  • Bachelor degree in Arts or Project Management, or technical diploma/degree from a recognized post secondary institution
  • PMP accreditation is an asset
  • Minimum of 5 years previous experience in project management for marketing departments
  • Experience in creative project management tools and processes
  • Experience managing multiple projects at the same time
  • Proficient skills in MS Office Suite including MS Project or equivalent
  • Knowledge of direct marketing is an asset

Content Producer, Best Health
Reporting to: Websites Manager

Position summary:

Are you a web-savvy editor with a passion for health and a penchant for magazines? Then we’ve got the job for you! We’re seeking a Content Producer extraordinaire who will build the online brand for Best Health Magazine, Canada’s leading women’s healthy lifestyle magazine, through creating and curating stellar digital and print content and developing community on the website and in the pages of the magazine.

 

Responsibilities

 

This job offers creative freedom and a chance to put your stamp on content that will be read by roughly 1 million people every month. The Best Health Content Producer wears many hats and must be a skilled writer and strong editor, for both print and digital content, with a finger on the pulse of trends online and in the world of health and wellness. Reporting to the Websites Manager, with a dotted line to Best Health Editor-in-Chief, the Best Health Content Producer will create short- and long-term editorial strategies for the site, commission and create original content for print and online, adapt print content for use online, source suitable art to accompany articles (photos, illustrations), manage the Best Health Blog and maintain relationships with the site’s editorial partners. The editor will also be responsible for managing and developing Best Health’s online community on the site and through social networks including Facebook and Twitter.

 

As the Best Health Content Producer you will:

 
  • Develop and execute an editorial strategy for the site
  • Conceive and execute large-scale multi-platform content projects
  • Create engaging content that drives traffic and enriches the brand
  • Manage relationships with editorial partners
  • Pitch story ideas to print and web content teams and editorial partners
  • Maintain and develop a stable of quality writers and content contributors
  • Commission and edit original content for all platforms
  • Manage and grow online communities on Facebook and Twitter
  • Monitor site metrics and adjust strategy/improve content based on them

Education / Experience

 
  • Bachelor Degree or equivalent in journalism or magazine publishing
  • Minimum four years of relevant experience in digital content management, ideally two years or more in a multi-platform publishing environment
  • Demonstrated expertise in writing and developing quality print and digital content with a health and lifestyle focus
  • Familiar working with a CMS (Content Management System)
 

Qualifications

RDMedia and Reader’s Digest is transforming its business.  Its trusted print brands are evolving to true multiplatform offerings, and its sales focus is shifting from page and banner based media to integrated custom solutions. We are currently seeking a strongly motivated, multi-talented, forward thinking individual to become our Business Manager.

 

The Business Manager provides superior value-added business advice and key performance counsel to management in support of achieving annual and long term growth targets. The Business Manager will work closely with Advertising, Digital, Editorial, Production, Finance (and third party vendors if needed) to develop and implement pricing models, cost saving initiatives, or those of a proactive nature, conduct profitability analysis by type of business, client and media, conduct market analysis in relation to new business opportunities. In addition, the Business Manager is responsible for managing the budget and LE (Latest Estimate) processes for all properties as well as new business ventures. He/she will be involved in the pricing of all products and the strategic financial management of: magazine related advertising pages/inserts/outserts, online display and rich media, database products (both offline and online), multi-title/multi-channel integrated programs, large scale integrated affinity programs and custom publishing projects.

 

Education / Experience

 
  • University degree with appropriate business experience is required
  • Experience in the media industry in an analytics role (>2 years) is required  
  • Post graduate degree and/or professional designation (i.e. CA, CMA, CGA, or MBA) is preferred
  • Computer literate, in particular superior Excel skills are required
  • Solid experience in executing strategic business analysis and recommendations
  • Minimum of 5 to 7 years of business experience with increasing responsibilitie

Human Resources Generalist (maternity leave replacement – 12 to 14 months)

The incumbent of this maternity leave replacement will join local HR team supporting management and employees in Montreal and Toronto. Reporting to the Director of HR, the HR Generalist manages human resources programs which are designed to support short and long-term business needs in the areas of planning, staffing and recruitment, training and development, performance management, corporate culture, employee relations and human resources management. The incumbent acts as a business partner and a change agent to management and employees offering professional guidance and counseling on various HR issues and initiatives.

 

Education / Experience

 
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or Industrial Relations
  • Professional CRHA/CHRP designation
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in a generalist role
  • A proven track record in being a successful human resources generalist with concrete accomplishments
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Knowledge of Oracle/KBACE (HRIS) is an asset
  • Familiarity with 2.0 recruiting tools
  • Bilingualism (English and French, spoken and written) is a must
